Another Excuse (When There Shouldn’t Be Any) …
Between boxing training and writing, I have no free schedule. I just did a seven-day marketing campaign on one of my poetry books, and I’m crossing my fingers for good results. But this is a fiction article, so I’ll get right to it…
For those who have been keeping up with the fiction side of my literature, I was working on a book about a necromancer who was trying to gain power in order to be reunited with his deceased daughter. The book’s name was The Only Necromancer. However, it’s in “development hell” at the moment.
I started a new project though. Something I can see me completing, as the previous book I was working on was something completely new and out of my range of writing. It doesn’t mean I’m not going to finish the book; it just means that I have to scrap the book, and for the 5th time, tweak it. Yeah, I’m not doing that right now.
Prologue
INT. HIGH SCHOOL – AFTER HOURS
Blood splashes on the hallway wall from the classroom. Four teens run out shortly after.
Sprinting for their lives, a figure walks out of the classroom shortly after, with an all-black hooded outfit on. He bears a reinforced plated skeleton mask as well, with a black-silver color shining across it. The man goes after the group of teens.
One of the boys look back, seeing that the hooded killer is still behind them. Upon looking forward again, a metallic spear blade is sent through him, blasting through his back and chest. The boy drops prior to the impact.
The hooded figure lowers his wrist, showcasing a mechanical gauntlet attached to him. The boys bend the corner, refusing to even look back at their deceased ally.
Their faces are in a panic, with one of the boys managing to speak up as they are running.
BOY # 1: That was Dan?
BOY # 2: Yeah.
Tears start to form.
BOY # 2: He killed him like he was nothing.
BOY # 3: Mike, you’re slowing down. Just keep going!
A harpoon contraption goes through the leg of the second boy, dropping him as he starts to scream. The hooded figure yanks the cord attached to the spear-like missile.
Mike begins to be dragged closer to the hooded figure, with the predator pulling the cord closer and closer to him. Hearing their friend now call out for them, the two stop running and turn around.
BOY # 3: Fuck this guy.
The third boy sprints into the direction of the hooded figure. The figure balls his fist up and waits for the teen to get close enough to him.
Now in range, the boy attempts to throw a punch at the figure. As his arm swings through the air, this same arm morphs into lava, showcasing that the boy has the power to turn a part of his body into hot lava itself.
The hooded figure extends a pair of wrist blades out of his gauntlet, resembling that of the metallic spear that killed the first boy in the previous hallway. He ducks, avoiding the supernatural punch as he then turns around and slices the back of the kids’ neck.
The kid’s head flings off his body and smacks into the wall.
BOY # 1: Darald!
The boy screams for his fallen comrade. Mike screams even louder at this point, attempting to budge the harpoon spear out of his leg.
The hooded figure places his attention on the last standing boy. He walks past Mike, and in the process, he shoots one of his wrist blades into Mike’s head, killing him as well.
One wrist blade remains, still extended from the hooded figure’s wrist as he marches closer to the last teen. The teen backs up, unsure as to what to do next.
BOY # 1: What is it that you want?
The hooded figure doesn’t say anything.
BOY # 1: Why are you doing all of this.
The boy stumbles and falls over another corpse, not seeing the body of a teenage girl lifeless on the ground in advance.
Looking back up, the hooded figure has made his way to him. The boy gets ready to scream, but the figure ends him with one swing of his wrist blade.
Chapter 1
INT. THREE BEDROOM APARTMENT – DAWN
Grayson, a twenty-four-year-old man, sneaks in through the apartment window. He makes it into the living room and closes the window behind him.
Just as he turns back around, he sees his aunt, Asia, standing in the distance. Grayson tilts his head and sighs.
Asia is thirty-four, with the appearance of a woman in her early to mid-twenties.
ASIA: Are you serious, Grayson? It’s seven in the morning – you were gone all night again.
GRAYSON: I had a lead on my father.
ASIA: Did you?
GRAYSON: Yes.
Asia gives her nephew a false stare.
GRAYSON: I’m serious, auntie. I actually had a lead this time. Over fourteen students and a teacher was killed at a high school last night. I know it was dad.
ASIA: And how do you know that?
GRAYSON: Four of the students were verified to be super humans. The others are still being investigated.
ASIA: Grayson, we can’t keep going through this every time you hear about super humans being attacked. Hate against their kind is starting to become a normal thing at this point. That’s why that act is being passed. It could’ve been another superhuman that did that.
GRAYSON: Then why wasn’t the suspect spotted yet? Who could’ve gotten away with the murder of that many people, let alone super powered people, so swiftly without as much as a clue left behind?
ASIA: Grayson, at this point you just want it to be your father.
Grayson exhales louder this time, showcasing frustration at this point. Asia takes a few steps forward towards her nephew, her tone staying at a patient manner.
ASIA: All of that rage built up inside of you Grayson, you have to let it go. The history between you and your father is just that, history. That’s where you have to leave it.
Grayson immediately rushes his sentence out.
GRAYSON: There’s no history to leave behind. That son of bitch wasn’t even in my life. Excuse me auntie.
Grayson walks around Asia and heads into his room.

Manuscript in the works…
The Prestige: Annihilation
About a third of the way done, Annihilation, is actually book three of a fantasy thriller action series I am working on. Though it is book three, it acts on its own, along with the first two books.
Being a standalone book, anyone will be able to jump into the book. You won’t have to read either of the previous books. The premise is simple, an assassin has been killing super humans around the city, in a society where super humans are accepted. Of course, the story is more complicated than this, as the premise itself is just the shell of the book.
Script Novel
I don’t wanna be like anyone else, I wanna be more like me. Because of this, I find myself EXTREMELY comfortable, writing in script formatting. For those who have bought any of my previous fiction books, you have probably seen my sprinkle sections of script writing here or there. This type of writing for novels, is called Script Novels.
I was self-taught. I learned how to write Theatre Plays first, graduating to screenplay writing once I became an adult. I’m really good at seeing something and being able to copy it, so when I learned how to Playwright, I was simply watching an episode of Avatar: The Last Airbender. On this particular episode, they were doing a stage play on the fire nation itself. I saw the episode once and was hooked.
Evolving My Style Of Writing In The Future
This style of writing for me serves two purposes: Practice and paving. I plan on expanding my style of writing into Japanese and Korean comics, and visual novels. I even want to dibble into screenwriting for animation. The sky isn’t the limit. The more I can do…the more I achieve…the more those I care for, can have. I’m a firm believer in no longer having a soul. I gave that up to sit in front of this keyboard for a living.

I have a couple of your poetry books waiting to be read, but I wanted to take a moment to say how much I appreciated PTSD. ‘To the Grave’ stood out as my favorite—powerful and deeply moving. Thank you for sharing your work!
